MDMUN Miami Dade Model UN Miami Dade Model UN (MDMUN) brings together over 1,200 South Florida students each year for dynamic conferences at its longtime home, Miami Dade College North Campus . A collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Department of Social Sciences, MDMUN is led by dedicated volunteers from the University of Miami and Miami Dade College. MDMUN High School includes lunch only on the second day of the two-day conference. MDMUN Middle School includes lunch at the one-day conference. Lunch is included for advisors. Schools may adjust their delegate totals as needed until January 23, 2026, when fees are due. Schools are responsible for fees reflected on their invoice after January 23, 2026. Advisor Eligibility Student registration must be completed by an adult, certified teacher or school administrator who is officially affiliated with the participating school. All advisors serve as the supervisor and primary point of contact for their delegation prior to and throughout the conference. We do not allow independent registration. This requirement ensures appropriate supervision and accountability for all participants, supporting a safe conference environment for students, advisors, and staff. Transportation M-DCPS District Managed Schools - Once conference registration has closed, the M-DCPS’ Department of Social Sciences will contact advisors regarding transportation and substitute coverage. Schools not managed by M-DCPS are responsible for their own transportation.

Established in 2013, Foundations for Leadership is equipping young people for success in education, career, and civic life. MODEL UNITED NATIONS Building Foundations for Leadership Essential skills for college, career, and civic life What is Model UN? Debate global challenges, negotiate solutions, build consensus The Experience Students take on the role of United Nations ambassadors, each representing a member state as they tackle real-world challenges. They research their country's positions, debate policies in committee, negotiate with other delegates, and work to build consensus across different perspectives. This experience builds the foundation for informed, responsible, and active citizens. Essential Skills Model UN develops skills students use in school, careers, and civic life: Research and information literacy Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving Public speaking and civil discourse Negotiation and collaborative conflict resolution Cross-cultural understanding and global awareness Get Involved Programs for students, educators, and volunteers Curriculum Support Model UN aligns with Florida Department of Education standards in Social Studies, History, and English Language Arts. It also fully integrates the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework . Our classroom resources support both everyday instruction and conference preparation. RESOURCES Student Conferences Nearly 2,000 middle and high school students participate in our conferences across Florida each year. We partner with Miami-Dade and Pinellas County Schools, along with local colleges and universities, to host events in Miami and Clearwater. CONFERENCES Volunteer Leadership College Model UNers keep the tradition alive by volunteering at conferences across Florida. As committee chairs and staff, they guide debate, mentor delegates, and sharpen their own leadership skills in the process. Join us at the annual PCMUN conference for middle & high school delegates. Staffed by St. Pete College and Tampa Bay area university volunteers. PCMUN Pinellas County Model UN Since 2014, Pinellas County Model UN (PCMUN) has brought global issues to life for students on Florida's Gulf Coast. A collaboration between Foundations for Leadership and Pinellas County Schools, PCMUN welcomes nearly 500 students, educators, and volunteers each year. Hosted at St. Petersburg College Clearwater Campus , conferences are led by their nationally recognized Model UN team.
